This movie is full of love. Different kinds of love. Unconditional love to the children. Love of friendship. Although the message of the movie is about facing the world no matter how cruel it is.
Why am I crying while writing this? I have no idea. I can't say that I can relate to this movie because I am nothing to compare to the characters that were being portrayed. But one thing is for sure, I can feel the love and most specially the pain and the struggle of having different looking person, the worst thing, being called freak. This is, to this date, the movie and made me cry even after the show, even just reading the plot. I can imagine everything already. The scenes, the emotions. Wow! Just wow! I can't understand why. I just can't explain how I feel.
Auggie
August "Auggie" Pullman was born with an extremely rare medical facial deformity which he refers to as "mandibulofacial dysostosis", which is likely Treacher Collins syndrome. Accordingly, this is a genetic disorder characterized by deformities of the ears, eyes, cheekbones, and chin. He's been too many surgery operations to survive.
He may be unfortunate to have facial deformity, that the world would be easily be judged by how he looked differently from their so-called-normal but he’s lucky enough to have loving family who loves him unconditionally and willing to take risk of exposing him to cruel world even deep inside they’re scared that he cannot handle cruelty. They believe that is the best and rightful way.
Via
She's the eldest sister of Auggie. She's expected to understand that he's brother needs more attention than she is but deep inside, she's hurting and longing for her parents' attention. The only person that she trusted and thinks she can rely on is her bestfriend Miranda. But after Miranda attended one summer camp, she avoided her without knowing the reasons.
Miranda
The estrange bestfriend of Via since kindergarten. Her family sucks. Her parents got divorced and her mother became dependent with alcohol.
What happened during summer camp that changes their BFF status to estrange, I don't know if it is understandable but to be honest, I can feel her.
This is really sucks! I write this for the purpose of documenting what I felt about the movie but my tears keeps on falling down, I can't understand why. This is the exact feeling why I also can't understand why watching the movie is so painful for me, while in fact, you can laugh every now and then because of the humor of the characters like Auggie.
Favorite Quote (too many to mention though)
I cannot quote exactly what Summer (Auggie's friend) said, but she basically said, if she's to choose doing the right thing or kind, she'll choose kind.
Rate: 5/5
I can safely say, that this is now my favorite movie, surpassing 'That Thing Called Tadhana'.
I'm afraid of dogs, but I think, Daisy is an exception.
