Calling the Hotline 8888 is a Big JOKE!

August 24, 2016

I have no idea na ang pagtawag pala sa Duterte's Complaint Hotline is a big JOKE!

For 20 minutes of waiting for a customer service representative to pick up the phone but all you can hear is the annoying background music (maybe became annoying because its has been 20 minutes being played). GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Before going to the moviehouse, I suggest, you should watch Snow White and the Huntsman first, if you haven't watched it yet, because this is the prequel and at the same time the sequel of that movie.

If the highlight story of Snow White and the Huntsman is about running away and chasing, well this time it's all about love. Falling in love, lost love, cursing love, fighting for love and winning love.

Of course, “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?” still there and "I do not miss" are the key words to this movie. LOL!

Oh, I forgot to mention, this is a Winter's War, so expect the war during winter. LOL!

What I like about this movie:
- Because it tackled about different kinds of love.

What I don't like about this movie:
- Oh gosh, I don't know. Maybe I should watch it again and find things what I don't like about this movie. Maybe the face of Sam Claflin because he's a lot uglier than the previous one. LOL!
- Oh, I got one, some of scenes are very predictable but then again, you keep on asking "why".

Verdict: Rating 4/5

Best Part:
- When Freya, the Ice Queen (Emily Blunt) stood up for her children (Huntsmen) over Ravenna, the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron).
- When the revelation of what really happened when Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and Sara (Jessica Chastain) got separated by the wall of ice created by Freya.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice [2016]

March 26, 2016
Robinsons Movieworld, Cinema 6, EDSA Corner Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City

Ticket Price: PHP250.00

Released: March 25, 2016 (USA)

Staring: Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill

Directed by: Zack Snyder

I don't go to the plot of the story coz I don't have a talent to narrate what I saw. All I have to do here is notice and compare. But this time, I can't compare with previous movies of Batman nor Superman because this is my first time to watch their movie, so all I can do is just notice. LOL! So basically, this is not a review but just pure opinion. I don't do review, actually. Hahaha.. Leave them to the movie expert reviewers.

Spoiler alert: the key word is "Martha". Ironically, Clark Kent's adoptive mother and Bruce Wayne's mother have the same name. Interesting huh! Is it just co-incidental or already part of the story since the beginning?

What I like about this movie:
- The costume of Superman.
- Wonder Woman's entire appearance.

What I don't like about this movie:
- The costume of Batman.

Verdict: Rating 4.1/5

Best Part:
Wonder Woman's entrance and fight scenes. Super sexy and hot. I'd like to commend Jesse Eisenberg who played Lex Luthor for the brilliant acting. Very good. Clap clap for him.

Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis [2016]

March 26, 2016
Robinsons Galleria Movieworld, Cinema 7, EDSA corner Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City
Credits: Star Cinema

The first movie I've ever watched so far that reached to 8 hours. Since this is quite long, there are two 20 minutes breaks, first at exactly 3 hours then the second is on the 6th hour.

The story evolve on the wife of Andres Bonifacio, Gregoria 'Oryang' De Jesus (Hazel Orencio) searching his body and to the greatest traitors in the Philippines ever known like Crisostomo 'Simoun' Ibarra (Piolo Pascual) and Cesaria Belarmino (Alessandra De Rossi).

Since this is an indie film, it's already expected to follow the actors in every move until they capture something interesting but I've noticed that there are lots of unnecessary scenes. Andaming "tunganga scenes". In "tunganga" alone, siguro mga 1 hour din un. Kaloka!

As Star Cinema invites, "Accept the Hele Challenge" coz of the length of the movie. So far, we watched it on the opening day, March 26 from 1:20PM to 10PM in Robinsons Galleria Movieworld-Cinema 7 for PHP300.00 plus internet fee of PHP20.00, if you booked it online (compare to PHP400.00 in SM Cinemas, a PHP100.00 cheaper), the movie house was full. Take note, no matter how boring the movie was, nobody leave.

I have no idea kung ano ang batayan ng isang film critic to rate this as 5/5 or even for winning the silver bear Alfred Bauer Prize in the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, coz for me as a movie goer who doesn't know how to appreciate a movie like this, I think it was a super waste of time watching this movie. Sorry I'm just saying.

There are inconsistencies that I've noticed too like the name of the Bankero who introduced himself as Crisanto but Simoun keep on calling him Anselmo. Same thing with Isagani's Uncle asking Martina for coffee but he follow-up with hot chocolate. Duh! Small details but still a details.

I must say, Piolo Pascual was very lucky in this movie. Most of the time, nakahiga lang sya sa duyan at karga-karga ng alalay. Effortless!

What I like about this movie:
- The poetic scenes.

What I don't like about this movie:
- The tunganga scenes.
- The inconsistencies.

Verdict: Rating 0.1/5

Tandem [2015]

Watched: February 19, 2016
Cinema 4, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City, MM, PH

Initial Released: September 1, 2015
Nationwide Released: February 2016 in selected SM Cinemas only

Staring: JM De Guzman and Nico Antonio

Directed by: King Palisoc

Kung saan nagsimula, doon lang din natapos. LOL.

The story is about the inseparable brothers Roman (Nico Antonio) and Rex (JM De Guzman) who work as low level riding-in-tandem (a notorious type of criminals who rob people in the street). They put themselves in danger and got used to it. In fact, the Roman got a job offer as a driver but didn't accept the offer coz of the small compensation.

Sad to say that, I think, this mirrors how small or big time criminals who got used to their work and can't go back to life that's working too much but has a little compensation.

Because of their kind of work, this movie also shows that even the people in the law and enforcement, took advantage of their job by using them to get easy money and even kill someone for them due to their backgrounds.

Sorry but I can't help it but to compare with Erik Matti's On The Job. I like the latter better though. It only reminds me of someone saying, "A criminal with criminal minds will always be a criminal". I mean, not to the point the I judged them according to their records but to their actions. They did it because of 'no options'? Come on, easy option yes, but still there are options.

I'd like to commend Rochelle Pangilinan's acting. Great job!
This movie has a buy 1 take 1 for PHP200 promo tickets. But you need to pay additional PHP3 for the take one for some sort of fee. Funny. Saw the schedule in the website in cinema 11 but you can't in the board (list of showing movies), if you don't ask the teller, you will not know it is showing. No wonder, there's no one watching except us. I mean, me plus two of my friends and just another solo lady sitting across us in lower box and few people in the upper box. Take note, the actual cinema is 4, not cinema 11. I don't know if the website is just outdated. Hmmmp.

What I like about this movie:
- It tackles how difficult life is especially if you already had a criminal records.
- It shows love, care and support from your family and friends no matter what.
- It shows how dangerous the world nowadays because these criminals are just anywhere else, finding their timing to attack you even in front of your home.
-

What I don't like about this movie:
- It doesn't give options to change their lives for the better.

Verdict: Rating 4/5
Even if I didn't like the story ended, I just like the actors how they played their roles. So natural. I just heard this from Tonight with Abunda's comment, 'No acting acting.' Something like that.

Best Part:
My favorite scene, heart to heart brotherly talk of Roman and Rex over a bottle of beer. Just full of love and tensions. Sweet!
JM De Guzman and Nico Antonio

No Escape [2015]

January 31, 2016

August 16 and 17, 2015 (Philippines, special sneak previews)
August 17, 2015 (Los Angeles premiere)
August 26, 2015 (United States)

Starring: Owen Wilson, Lake Bell, and Pierce Brosnan

Directed by: John Erick Dowdle

No Escape is a thriller movie in which a US family relocating to undisclosed South East Asia Country become caught in a violent coup against the ruling regime and start killing the Americans.
Credits: The Weinstein Company

What I like about this movie:
 - Because this is a thriller that you can feel the characters' feelings.
 - Because you literally can't breath from the start of the action til the end.
 - Because it was beautifully done even though you can't understand of the local language (unfortunately, no subtitle).
 - No matter how violent the world is, you can always find a little hope in each event.

What I don't like about this movie:
 - There are loopholes in the scenes. For example:
1. When the rebels able to reach the rooftop, they could have fire the Americans in a distance instead, they first remove the debris. Hmmmp
2. Cellphone signals or any telecommunication devices we're cut but how come the airplanes able to land?

Verdict: Rating 4.9/5
The best movie I've watched so far since That Thing Called Tadhana last year. A really breath-taking movie. You will not allow yourself to breath coz the rebels might have noticed you. LOL! But that's really what I felt.

The 5th Wave [2016]

January 22, 2016
Cinema 1, Robisons Movieworld, Robinsons Galleria, EDSA cor. Ortigas Ave., Quezon City

Release date (January 22 - US, January 20 - PH)

I think I need to watch this again, start from the very beginning coz unfortunately napanood ko to nasa gitna na.

What I like about this movie:
- Dahil nakita ko ulit si Nick Robinson.
- Dahil cute din si Evan Walker (Alex Roe).

What I don't like about this movie:
- Dahil bitin ang ending.
- Dahil nakatakas naman ang mga aliens.
- Dahil hindi pinakita kung anong nangyari kay Evan Walker.
- Dahil madaming part na madilim na single light lang ung nakikita mo at huhulaan mo nalang kung anong mga nangyari.
- Dahil hindi pinakita kung anong nangyari doon sa mga sinalakay ng mga bata (grupo ni Ben Parish), bigla nalang tumigil ang labanan tapos, anyare? Ewan!
L-R: Nick Robinson, Maika Monroe, Alex Roe and Chloë Grace Moretz

Bawal Mag-CI sa Massive Sales

January 22, 2016

Just saying!

Eh di kyo na ang bawal!
